Sad & Ugly turned Pretty & Chic

I found this chair sitting on a curb waiting for the trash man to pick up, but I took it instead. That happened about 3.5 years ago, and I'm just now getting around to fixing it up. It isn't pretty yet, but with a little work it will be perfect for my front porch.

I was searching on Pinterest for some inspiration, and I fell in love!!

The sanding process was relatively easy, but it did take awhile. The chair had layers of paint that we had to remove. The most difficult part to sand was between the spindles in the back and around them.

I became impatient and frustrated because I wasn't able to get it all cleaned off, but that's okay with me, I was ready to paint!

I love the color, and I've used it in other pieces of our house, so now our outside ties in with our inside! I decided to paint only 1 coat and leave it a little distressed looking, and I love it!!

A bigger wreath would be ideal, but I'm using what I have laying around at home.

I would like to get another chair, a small table for between the chairs, and some pillows, and then I believe my front porch will be finished. And of course my flower boxes that haven't been finished yet. 😊
