Nursery To Big Boy Room

A mother never wants to admit that their children are growing up, but my son just turned 4, and we have been working on turning his room from nursery into a big boys room. This process has been fun and exciting, but at the same time sad. He is no longer the baby that is jumping in his crib so excited to see me...but now the little boy that tells me to "go away" when it's time to wake up and get ready for Preschool.

The map is one of my favorite things in his room. I bought it at Hobby Lobby, along with the red wire basket that is holding some of his stuffed animals, and the green basket that holds some of his favorite books.

The baseball dated with 1975, was from when my dad played Little League and pitched a no hitter.  Since he didn't have any boys of his own, he was so happy to pass it on to Ryan.

His little chalkboard table was one of our old end tables. I just painted the top with chalkboard paint, and found green paint that matched the upholstered chair I found at Home Goods! I also painted the shelf the same color green as the table, and now it holds his bucket of crayons and a bucket of chalk. The Duke basketball canvas was painted by my cousin...Go Duke!!

And this is a panoramic of his room (iPhone pic, sorry for the bad quality)! We love it! We just need to make shelves to hold some more of his books, and then his room should be finished!
